If Iraqis "deserve" democracy, why not Kuwaitis?

Re: "There's some explaining to do," Michael Coren (April 12). Kuwait was liberated by U.S.-led coalition forces 12 years ago. Before being occupied by Iraq in August 1990, Kuwait was no democracy. It was, instead, a kind of neo-feudal kingdom and remains one today. Which begs the question: Why did America not flex its freedom-loving political muscles to give Kuwaitis democracy? The last I heard, Kuwaiti women, for example, were far from having equal rights with their male counterparts. If Iraqis "deserve" democracy, why not Kuwaitis? Sauce. Goose. Gander.
